All the times Bruce Springsteen's special tour guest Tom Morello has slammed Donald Trump
Tom Morello, who is a part of Rage Against the Machine, is slated to join Bruce Springsteen on tour, pairing up their anti-Trump mentality and messaging after collaborating
Bruce Springsteen, 76, known for his anti-Trump tirades, will be supported on tour by Tom Morello, who shares a similar sentiment as the New Jersey born icon.
Tom, 61, is an American guitarist and singer-songwriter, notably a member of the rock bands Rage Against the Machine, who had their song banned over explicit language, and Audioslave. Rage Against the Machine, in particular, is a notably politically charged band, even just by virtue of their name which is meant to call for the opposition to oppressors and ruling class. The band frequently takes a leftist position on political tops, calling for the state of the world to see a massive shift toward justice and liberation.
This energy wasn't abandoned when Tom went on stage with Bruce recently. In fact, he only used his elevated platform to hit out at the president even further.
In Boston Calling in 2025, Tom performed with two nods criticizing the Trump administration — a back drop which read "F--- Trump" and a guitar with the phrase "F--- I.C.E" displayed.
Bruce, around the same time, was also vocal about his opposition to Trump, who responded with anger. However, Tom defended his friend, noting that "Bruce draws a bigger audience" than the president.
“Bruce is going after Trump because Bruce, his whole life, he’s been about truth, justice, democracy, equality," Tom said.
In May of that year, he called Trump "corrupt" and "incompetent."
"F--- that guy," he told an audience the-mirror-icon_entertainment_music_bruce-springsteen.
Further, in January 2026, he advocated against Trump once again. This time, he expressed concern for the "state of terror" swelling through Minnesota as ICE moved in with a heavier presence. In response to the increased ICE patrol, and agents' killing of American citizens, local communities protested, raising the stakes.
That same month, Tom spoke out after Trump's administration allegedly used a slogan that was akin to one used by the Nazis.
"One Homeland. One People. One Heritage," the Department of Labor toted, drawing a striking resemblance to the Hitler slogan "One People, One Realm, One Leader."
Tom will join Bruce on the upcoming upcoming “Land of Hope & Dreams American Tour," and he is slated to play at every tour date. In fact, the musician is even postponing some tour dates of his own to make room in his schedule.
“After Bruce joined me last month in Minneapolis for our ‘Defend Minnesota’ charity concert, I was reminded how important our platform is, and how crucial the resistance work is that our music can do together at this dangerous historical juncture," Tom said.
He added, “Together, Bruce, the E Street Band, and I are going to turn a spotlight on the current threats to democracy and human rights happening all around us on the ‘Land of Hope & Dreams American Tour’ in the spirit of freedom, justice and rock n roll. I have a deep love and respect for all my friends, fans & comrades, and I’m sorry that I must reschedule some of my May solo shows. I promise that we will find a way to be together for these shows, in these towns, very soon.”
