Cardi B fans fume 'nobody asked for this' as she makes raunchy change to Miley Cyrus song
Cardi B switched up the lyrics of Party in the U.S.A. while suspended high above the crowd on a flying stage prop during a concert - but some people didn't like it
Cardi B's fans have been left fuming after she made a raunchy change to an iconic Miley Cyrus song during a concert.
The 33-year-old rapper, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, switched up the lyrics of Party in the U.S.A. while suspended high above the crowd on a flying stage prop during her arena tour. But while up in the air, Cardi surprised her fans with her own twist on the late 2000s hit, singing, "Yeah, it's a party in my p---y."
The original lyrics in Miley's song are, "Yeah, it's a party in the U.S.A." The lyric change immediately went viral on social media - and while many fans praised Cardi's sense of humor, others found the lyric change unnecessary.
"This is so disgusting and trashy," a person said on X, while another tweeted, "This is not funny…. Miley shoulder definitely sue." A third posted, "From Hannah Montana vibes to 'parental advisory' in 0.3 seconds. The remix nobody asked for but somehow everyone expected."
One more said, "Cardi B turning Party In The U.S.A. into… something entirely different." Someone else posted, "A mother of 4 btw."
A critic posted, "This is so degenerate as a popular figure among the youth why say something damaging about women when there more then just their reproductive organs." Someone else said, "Just dirty and ghetto." A person said Cardi "ruined" the song.
However, others were more supportive as they described Cardi as "hilarious." A fan wrote on Reddit, "She's so deeply unserious, I can't help but find her hilarious." Another shared, "Party in my p---y. Hahahaha. So real this woman."the-mirror-icon_entertainment_music_cardi-b
"I just know miley would approve," one said. "Ok this is actually so fun," a fan said, while someone else posted, "Lmaoooooo cardi please." One added, "She HAS to do a Netflix comedy special atp."
"I feel like she could immediately make it on the comedian circuit if she ever gave up the rap career," a person reflected. It was the latest viral moment during the Little Miss Drama Tour, which spans 35 dates and ends April 18.
During a stop in Las Vegas, Cardi fell off a chair while performing a choreographed move. She immediately joked into the microphone, "That wasn't me, that was the government," a quip that quickly became a trending meme.
Then while performing in Seattle, she nearly fell through an open stage trap door while performing Press. Fans praised her for maintaining her composure and continuing the high-energy set.
The tour is in support of Cardi's second album — Am I the Drama? — which was released in September. The Grammy winner's 23-track project features collaborations with Janet Jackson, Lizzo, Selena Gomez, Megan Thee Stallion, Cash Cobain, Kehlani, Summer Walker and Tyla.
The Little Miss Drama Tour is her first arena tour. It began in Palm Desert, California, on February 11, and wraps in Atlanta in April, with stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and Toronto.
